Tom, Morgan, and Augie traveled to Colorado this past week to visit Tom's brother and his family and to do a little eastern Colorado pheasant hunting. The hunt was successful for all and then it was off to Hastings, Nebraska and the Bunker Hill Preserve for the BDC Invitational. This event is a three run hunt featuring one pheasant field, one quail field, and one chukar field. The scores from each field are added together and the highest score wins. Morgan had three clean runs for a total score of 488 and earned her first ever BDC Super Major!
Tom is very proud of Morgan for her consistent performance throughout the weekend. Tom said it was a great experience and more special because he was able to have his brother and nephew their.
The first weekend in February brings the Top Gun Championships in Wisconsin and Tom, Morgan, and Augie are looking forward to another great time with Steiny and the gang!
Storm-Storms on to Nationals Scene!!!!

2 year old black and white English Pointer "Storm" owned by NYBDS member Randy Hilligus came into the 2010 BDC Nationals as an unknown and left in the back of every pointing dog handlers mind this past Sunday in LeCenter, Minnesota. Storm will be remembered by everyone that competed against him not only in Amateur Pointing but also in Top Gun Pointing.
Strom finished as the Runner-up National Champion in the Amateur Pointing division and took 5th among the 54 Top Gun dogs that entered the tournament. Storm and handler Tom Glynn put together 4 clean 3 bird runs in the Top Gun Pointing event with a lightening fast 3:27 on Friday morning to get everyone's attention. Tom and Storm went on to post a time of just over 4 minutes on Saturday afternoon to win their group and move in to the finals. On Sunday a 7:46 and 9:35 run were enough to place the duo 5th. What an accomplishment for a young dog with a new handler. Way to go Storm!!!
